I was talking to my eldest brother about some of the things I have achieved. He told me an interesting concept he learned from a leadership session, which gauges how effective your work is.

It is called P. I. E.

  1. Performance — What you have have actually done.
  2. Image — What others think you have done.
  3. Exposure — How many people know what you have done.

Basically sometimes we might think we are doing a great job, but if there is no communication or feedback loop there might be a disparity between our assumption and reality.

Our perception is formed because we are aware of the ground realities of our performance.

Image is how it being communicated and received, which forms the perception of others about you.

Exposure is your work being highlighted to a broader audience, which increases the chances of discovery hence enhances the overall impact. First people become aware of your presence, once they acknowledge and if they reach out it eventually builds your network.

Controlling these three aspects can lead to greater success !
