Last of us 2: How to open every safe without knowing the code
Naughty Dog recently released Last of us 2, it has continued the feature of having stash in a safe which we have seen in the earlier Last of us. But unlike earlier version of Last of us, you don’t have to get the clue every time to open the safe. If you know the code once, you can insert the code and open the safe.
Since you have to enter each code number manually, you can see Ellie rotating a dial which can be used to enter a code between 00 to 99 but there is another feature which emulates real world and can help you open any safe in Last of us 2.
The developers have tried to make the game very close to real life and because of that, they added a distinct clicking noise for the correct combination for each number you enter by rotating the dial.
Once I realized this I was able to open all the iron safe till now (I am yet to complete the game), without even knowing the code. I just closed my eyes and listened intently for a different sound while trying different combinations.
Using headphones or playing at a higher volume might help in differentiating between the sounds.
By learning this technique it became clear to me why they show people in movies using a stethoscope for cracking or opening a vault or safe.
